“CULTURA” - A Celebration of Culture through Music, Art & Food
Cultura is a one-day event in its third year scheduled for Saturday, September 27, 2025 in downtown Howell in and around the Howell Opera House. Join us as we celebrate culture through music, art, and food, co-hosted by the Livingston Diversity Council and the Livingston Arts Council.
This annual fall event will feature two distinct performance areas featuring sounds and movement from around the world, unique and culturally symbolic art, and food trucks highlighting wide spice and flavor palettes.
Everyone is welcome to this all-ages event to celebrate and learn with us. Be ready to open your mind and heart to understanding and a deeper sense of global community!

Livingston Lamplighters Barbershop Chorus
The Livingston Lamplighters Presents:
The Motown label's signature sound, a blend of soul, rhythm and blues, gospel, and vocal jazz, became a defining characteristic of an era.
Motown artists like Stevie Wonder, The Supremes, The Marvelettes, Marvin Gaye, and The Four Tops had a profound impact on music and culture, breaking down racial barriers and uniting people through music.
The Lamplighters Family chorus will be presenting the best from Hitsville USA, as well as being joined by the Lamplighter Band, our member quartets, and many more surprises!
Seating at the Howell Opera House is general admission and there are no reserved seats.
A portion of our proceeds go to benefit a local charity.

Learn to Play Mahjong
We have new dates for learning to play Mahjong at @Howell Opera House. Thursday, October 16, November 20 and December 18, at 6:30 pm.
With a nominal investment of $5 per person paid at the door, you learn the ancient Mahjong game (Chinese rules), have fun, and make new friends.
Mahjong sets will be available. We’d like to encourage you to bring your set in case we're short. Game rules/cheat sheet provided.

Rocky Horror Picture Show
Once again, the 70s cult film classic returns to the Howell Opera House! Dressing up as a favorite character is encouraged for the costume contest, but not required. Doors open at 8 pm, and the show begins at 9 pm There will be a cash bar and light concessions available for purchase.
Rated R - under 17 requires an accompanying parent or adult guardian.
The ticket price is $25, which includes admission for one and a participation bag.

Scary Story Festival by the Ann Arbor Storytellers’ Guild
– Children’s Scary Story – Begins at 6:30 PM - Free admission – on the first floor.

Learn to Play Mahjong
We have new dates for learning to play Mahjong at @Howell Opera House. Thursday, June 19, July 24 and August 21, at 6:30 pm.
With a nominal investment of $5 per person paid at the door, you learn the ancient Mahjong game (Chinese rules), have fun, and make new friends.

The event will be held on the first floor of the Howell Opera House, where all the artists will be present to discuss their work and answer questions. You can expect a variety of art forms, including paintings, jewelry, digital prints, photography, and more, with all displayed artworks available for purchase. Additionally, we have a kids' "make-and-take" art table and a community mural for the whole family to contribute to. So come on in, stroll through the exhibit, and discover your new favorite piece of art!
