The Livingston Arts Council invites playwrights, composers, and creators to submit original theatrical works for consideration in our December 2026 production.

As we celebrate the return of live theatre to Howell, we’re looking for fresh voices and original stories to close our first season in over 100 years! This new production may be staged in one of our flexible spaces at the Opera House, offering an intimate setting for bold, imaginative storytelling.

Whether you’re a seasoned writer or an emerging creative, we want to hear your voice and showcase your work to our growing community of theatre lovers.

What We’re Looking For

• Full-length plays (60–120 minutes)

• One-act plays (20–60 minutes)

• Original musicals suitable for minimal staging

• Adaptations of public-domain works with a fresh perspective

We’re especially interested in works that:

• Bring stories to life through language, movement, and imagination, not elaborate design.

• Can be performed with minimal scenery, simple lighting, and a focus on the actor’s craft.

• Encourage a sense of ensemble and connection between performers and audience.

• Reflect the heart of the holiday season
