Featured Artist Window Program

The Opera House Window Gallery provides local and regional artists an opportunity to showcase their work in our highly visible Main Street display windows. Installations rotate regularly and are designed to activate the historic building while highlighting creative talent in our community.

Who May Apply

The Opera House Window Gallery is open to local and regional artists of all experience levels. Emerging, mid-career, and established artists are encouraged to apply. We welcome creative voices across Livingston County and surrounding communities.

Artists must be 18 years or older, or apply with a parent/guardian if under 18.

Accepted Mediums

We welcome a wide range of artistic mediums, including but not limited to:

  • Painting

  • Drawing

  • Mixed Media

  • Fiber Arts

  • Photography

  • Printmaking

  • Sculpture

  • Installation-based visual work

If you work in another visual medium not listed here, we still encourage you to apply. We are open to creative and thoughtful proposals that can safely and effectively be displayed within a window setting.

Due to physical and environmental limitations, we cannot accommodate:

  • Work requiring electricity or technical infrastructure

  • Perishable or hazardous materials

  • Installations that require structural modification

  • Work that poses safety or security concerns in a street-facing environment

All displayed work must be suitable for public viewing.

How to Apply

Artists may apply on a rolling basis. Submissions should include:

  • Artist name and contact information

  • Short artist bio

  • Description of proposed work

  • Estimated number of pieces and dimensions

  • 3–5 images of representative work

  • Website or social media link (if available)

Applications are reviewed by staff. Selected artists will be contacted to coordinate scheduling, installation, and details. Displays typically run 4–6 weeks, depending on seasonal programming and availability. Rotation dates are coordinated in advance with the staff.

For display terms, installation guidelines, and policies, please review our Featured Artist Window Program Guidelines here.
